Winter Weather and Custom Homes

How do we handle inclement weather?

Inclement weather and lost time is a part of building a new home. While progress can slow slightly during these times, our schedules and estimates given to clients incorporate some slower periods and we ensure our homes stay protected throughout every phase.

Once construction begins, we install premium lumber, roof decking, house wrap, and windows to keep the structure safe from the elements. We use premium moisture-resistant subfloor systems and protect your exposed materials on site. These steps allow work to continue safely and prevent damage from rain, snow, or freezing temperatures.

How this affects timing?

Every build will experience some type of slow down or delay. We track all of our build times to ensure expectations with clients are properly set from construction to completion, which means delays of some kind are always factored in. Some trades, like masonry or concrete, may pause during extreme cold, and in those cases, we adjust the schedule as needed to maintain progress and communicate clearly with the client and agent to keep surprises minimal and things on track.

Weather can affect pacing, but we do not allow weather or delays to compromise quality or protection.
